The African regional office of the World Health Organization (WHO) reports an outbreak of Ebola virus disease (EVD).

The cases are initially reported from Gueckedou, Macenta and Kissidougou in the Forest Region of Guinea. Measures are taken by the Ministry of Health, WHO and other partners to control the outbreak and prevent further spread: deployment of multidisciplinary teams to detect and manage cases and trace contacts.
