WHO has deployed so far 112 experts to West Africa to assist in the response, including 68 experts deployed through its global surge mechanism, 10 external and 33 international experts from Global Outbreak Alert & Response Network partner institutions.

Social mobilization is key to the outbreak response, "Wise people" help to fight Ebola in remote villages. Although Sierra Leone has not yet reported a confirmed case, vigilance is high and one expert is sent to support surveillance efforts there.
